58 hours to my departure…

July 14, 2008

Time SERIOUSLY flies!!! How did 2 months become 2.4 days so soon?

I cannot contain my excitement about what lies ahead… but I know I will also miss all my very dear friends here.

After my last service @ church on Sunday, I thought about how the thing I think most about when I’m leaving’s PEOPLE… Not buildings, not shops and certainly not food! (Even though I am not sure how I would cope without Starbucks… Ah!) I spent Sunday night after church on our ‘ritual’ Outback chesse fries (with ranch & honey mustard) trip and loved every moment of just hanging.

I am grateful for every moment I’ve had with my lovely friends and I am totally gonna stay in touch with all of you… CHEERING you on toward the most AMAZING destinies that you have!!!

Sarah in Philippines

July 14, 2008

One of my buddies @ Bible college was Sarah Harrison… She was the most diligent student I knew in my year and I just love how she always has a heart that reaches out to people!

She followed her heart and soon after college, Sarah moved to the Philippines for a missionary stint. Last year, she returned to Sydney for a little while before going back there again to Missionary School. Now she is fully into the thick of things on missionary placements in various rural areas in Philippines … in villages caring for abandoned children, bringing practical solutions to families and sharing the Good News of Jesus.

I am so inspired by her passion for ‘the least of these’ and I feel totally blessed to have a friend like her in my life.

I love you Sarah!!!

Read about all her adventures on her blog… and if you’d love to support her in her missionary endeavour, message me!

Bills, Apple Store n’ Great Friends!

June 29, 2008

A perfect Saturday = Lunch @ Bills + a trip to the new Apple Store + Great fun friends!!!

Some days cannot get any better. It was a perfect clear-blue-sunny-sky day… and after yummy scrambled eggs with avo n’ super extra crispy bacon with sourdough (+ a kind dessert serving of ricotta hot cakes with honeycomb butter n’ banana compliments of Jenny), we headed to the brand new Apple Store on Kings Street.

Hey what can I say? I must surely have some geek DNA within me… n’ probably not just normal geek genes but Apple-inclined ones ;) It’s the FIRST Apple Store in Australia and SECOND largest in the world so I just had to check it out! Very obviously, not many people get how passionate I am (about a lot of things! haha…) about Macs but I just LOVE how Apple creates

BEAUTIFUL THINGS that are INTUITIVE and FUN TO USE… Not to mention INTELLIGENT!

It’s not your ‘normal’ stuff you know… like a boring laptop or a BORING UGLY desktop that you have to work on… It’s more like an aesthetically appealing work of art that happens to be technologically (more than) viable, that has programs with great ’skins’ (totally makes working more motivating!) that DOES FUN STUFF! Life is too short for boring things… C’mon!

(Ok I love ichat-video-conferencing with all the guys @ work! Ha!)

And look! On the third floor of the Apple Store resides the Genius Bar…

Apple users must be GENIUSES! That’s just how it is!!! :p

Jenny n’ I spent a little while chatting with this guy at the Genius Bar about Macs, iphones (is so much better than a blackberry!!!) and everything else… like how he got to work there and what’s in his lanyard-badge-thingamgic (ID, Name Cards…) when I got interested in his little 2-fold card Apple Creed card thing (from the thingamgic) that’s kinda equivalent to a Starbucks ‘Green Apron Book.’ So I asked if I could have it… to which he replied in the negative and said that each staff only has one in all their whole career and it could not be given to anyone! *Hmph!*

For anyone who truly knows me, I love to find out what drives the success of any store/corporation/organisation with happy employees so… with the added motivation of a love for all-things-Apple, now I really want that card… Help anyone?

Anyhow… I’ve made my reservation @ the Genius Bar and will be popping back tomorrow with my MacBook so that they can pimp it up n’ teach me more…

I’m totally delighted!

Reading blogs…

June 25, 2008

Everyday or so I take time to browse online journals of friends and people of interest to me…

Yesterday I came across a blog that reminded me of how much I miss my beautiful Swedish friend, Johanna! Time to give her a buzz…
